The partners and staff at Holbrook and Shotley Practice are seeking a full time* Practice Manager for their busy, two site, rural practice. The Practice Manager’s task will be to continue the smooth running of the practice by working with our practice team and our community colleagues, as well as external stakeholders and contract holders.
The practice is high achieving, having hit QOF at 100% for the last 5 years. It has a Good CQC rating (2016) with some excellent standards. The patient survey results are higher than the National average in all areas and above CCG average in most. The practice is well regarded by all.
The team are well established and supportive. We have four partners and a clinical team of salaried GPs, Clinical Care Practitioners, Practice Nurses, HCA and phlebotomist. We are ably supported by a team of managers who cover HR, Dispensary and Admin/IT, and who are generally autonomous in their roles. We also have a dedicated and hardworking Practice Administration team of dispensers, receptionists, data, finance and secretarial staff. We have excellent working relationships with the CCG, NHS England/Improvement, the LMC and our PCN.
The way we work is fairly traditional with doctors and nurses, but we have recently employed Clinical Care Practitioners in a new role to support our GPs. We are also working with our PCN to make use of the ARRS funding and will soon have a full time Clinical Pharmacist in post. The last few years have seen a number of big changes: setting up new systems for workflow, embedding HR processes, a large building project at Shotley and, of course, the current pandemic challenges. Our staff have embraced the new technology and worked in a very different way through this time.
Our ambitions are to become a training practice and look at the building at Holbrook to see how we can accommodate an increase in patient numbers from the proposed developments.
