Bladder & Bowel

Suffolk GP Federation manages various community services in alliance with East Suffolk and North Essex NHS Foundation Trust, West Suffolk NHS Foundation Trust, Suffolk County Council and Norfolk and Suffolk NHS Foundation Trust.

Bladder & Bowel

The Bladder and Bowel service, commissioned by the Suffolk GP Federation, provides services to adults living in Suffolk, as well as those living outside of Suffolk who are registered at a Suffolk GP practice.

Patients will be assessed by one of our nurses who will provide treatment and guidance around the management of incontinence. For those patients who require bladder and bowel continence care, all available treatments are tried before considering incontinence products for containment. If incontinence products are required, these will be issued within the current guidelines agreed by the Clinical Commissioning Group, in partnership with the Suffolk GP Federation.

Our team consists of a Specialist Nurse, Bladder and Bowel Nurses, Senior Nursing Assistants and Nursing Assistants.

Patients who have a treatment plan will remain in the service until the condition is resolved or until they require an onward referral. Patients who require containment products will remain in the service until they do not require them anymore, or until they pass away.
