Control Room Supervisor (Urgent Care) – Internal Candidates Only

We’re recruiting for a part time Control Room Supervisor to efficiently and effectively manage our cohort of base appointment bookers.

What is the role?

  • You’ll be responsible for the day-to-day management and running of the base appointment bookers of the Out of Hours Service, working closely with the assistant service manager.
  • It’s a role that requires visible leadership working largely in the out of hours period of evenings and weekends.

The Out of Hours Service provides urgent out-of-hours appointments from Monday – Friday 18:30 – 08:00 and 24 hours at weekends and bank holidays. Patients access the service via NHS 111, and we then are able to offer the patient either an appointment at one of our Primary Care Centres or a home visit.

You’ll join our Urgent care team. We are a not-for-profit, community interest company and our main purpose is to support Primary Care across Suffolk, including support with working collaboratively and at scale. We also deliver a portfolio of NHS services across Suffolk and North East Essex, including Podiatry, Ultrasound, Diabetes, as well as Urgent Care Services including the Out of Hours face-to-face Service in Suffolk.

We will work alongside the successful candidate to ensure they are sufficiently inducted and trained; there will be regular constructive supervision in place. It is important to us that you feel safe and supported in the role.

  • You’d be suited to this role if you’re self-motivated, enthusiastic and consider yourself an innovative team player who enjoys a varied workload.
  • Previous experience of working within the health sector would be beneficial but not essential.
  • You’ll need to be able to remain calm under pressure and be proactive in developing pathways/protocols.
